The journal Resuscitation published a new scientific study where the scientists discovered new evidence that there is life after death. Scientists believe that after the physical death our soul continues and goes back to the universe.
The largest medical study into near-death and out-of body experiences was done in the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom.
This study concludes that after the brain shuts down completely there is still some awareness.
The researchers spent more than four years studying more than 2000 patients. All of the patients had suffered from cardiac arrests. This study had patients from 15 different hospitals in Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom.
During the time in which they were considered clinically dead, almost 40 percent of the patients who survived resuscitation described some sort of body awareness.
This awareness included sensations of peacefulness or of time changing (either slowing down or speeding up time). This awareness was felt by 39 percent of the 140 survivors out of just over 2000 patients studied.
Some of these patients saw a bright light, a golden flash or sunlight. Feelings of fear, drowning or being dragged through deep water were felt by other patients.
One 57-year-old man from Southampton was pronounced dead for three minutes. Now, he states that during these three minutes he was able watch his resuscitation from the corner of the room.
The most shocking thing was that he was able to recount the actions of the nursing staff and the sound of the machines used in his resuscitation process.
Dr. Jerry Nolan, the editor-in-chief of the journal Resuscitation, commented about the study and said that Dr. Parnia and his team made an incredible discovery that will open new doors for other studies.
In this way we are even closer to revealing the truth about what happens when we die.
